Pyroxene is a software company based in Toronto, Canada. It says as much on the main page.
We aim to develop meaningful sociable applications. Our goal is to bring people together in ways not possible with existing social networks. Thats the plan anyway.
That is top secret. When the world is ready (or when we are ready, whichever comes first), we will post information here.
Pyroxene is a group of talented and experienced software professionals. The exact number of contributors at any time is unknown.
We don't know why you would want to do that, but if you insist, you may reach us at mail@pyroxene.ca.
You are correct. We liked the name so we chose it for our company. If I remember correctly, the pyroxenes are a group of rock-forming inosilicate minerals found in many igneous and metamorphic rocks. The name pyroxene comes from the Greek words for fire and stranger. Pyroxenes were named this way because of their presence in volcanic lavas, where they are sometimes seen as crystals embedded in volcanic glass; it was assumed they were impurities in the glass, hence the name "fire strangers". However, they are simply early-forming minerals that crystallized before the lava erupted. (Thanks Wikipedia!)
Of course you can. Can you guess what this is?
